Tina Fey has come a long way!

The actress stars in the upcoming flick, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, but it feels like it was just yesterday that she was making us laugh during her memorable Saturday Night Live skits on a weekly basis.

In honor of her soon-to-be-released movie, E! News throws it back (way back to 2002!) to an old interview with the comedienne.

Fey weighs in on what it was like when she received word that she was promoted to head writer of the popular series, making her the first woman to take on the gig, and her reaction may surprise you.

"There's a way around here where you can get a promotion and not really know that it's happened," she joked with us.

"I was overwhelmed because it was only my third season here, I think, and the first time you walk into that room of writers—who are mostly guys and older than me and they're all like 6-foot-2—it's intimidating."

Find out what else she thought of taking on the coveted role at Saturday Night Live in the clip above!
