Demi Lovato's "Stone Cold" music video is brimming over with emotion—and that's exactly how she wanted it to be.

The 23-year-old singer enlisted Patrick Ecclesine to direct the video after working with him on her stripped down and completely spontaneous Vanity Fair photo shoot. "He was able to capture my vulnerability, my emotion and the raw feelings," Demi explains in this exclusive behind-the-scenes clip, "and I just wanted that for 'Stone Cold' more than anything."

"I think this is something that's going to be really interesting, because I don't know if people have seen you [Demi] like this in some time," says Patrick of the music video shoot.

What made shooting "Stone Cold" so special, says Demi, is that it "wasn't this huge staged production."

"This whole experience came together very quickly," she says, "but that's the beauty in it."
