Andy Samberg has full confidence in Ricky Gervais' hosting capabilities, as the British comedian, actor and creator of The Office gets ready to host the 2016 Golden Globes for the fourth time.

Samberg, 37, had hosted the 2015 Emmy Awards last September, marking the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor and SNL alum's most high-profile hosting stint. On the red carpet at the Golden Globes, he talked to E! News' Ryan Seacrest exclusively about what he was doing 15 minutes before the Emmys.

"Just going through it all on prompter, re-reading the monologue, feeling really scared," he said.

Gervais, Samberg said, doesn't need to do any of that.

"He's done this so many times," he said. "He's like up there with a beer. He doesn't care."

"He's British! They have beer for breakfast," he joked.

Gervais, 54, had indeed sipped beer while hosting the 2011 Golden Globe Awards, the second of three consecutive Golden Globes ceremonies he hosted, and also while presenting an award at the 2012 event. The funnyman also drank from a beer can during his 2010 standup special.

Gervais is known for his no holds barred sense of humor and drew some controversy with some of his jokes at past Golden Globes ceremonies. He gave viewers a taste of what is likely to come with a single tweet on Sunday, hours before the show.

"Better get dressed and offend some humorless c--ts I suppose," he wrote.

Samberg won his first Golden Globe at last year's ceremony, for his role as Jake Peralta on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He recalled to Seacrest how unexpected the win was.

"It's the least prepared I've ever been on a stage, including, like elementary school plays," Samberg told Seacrest, when asked about his speech. "I thought there was zero chance [I would win]. I'd just come back from my honeymoon and the whole time, my wife was like, 'You might [win] though, you never know. It's one in five.' And I was like, 'Never. No way.'"

"When they called my name, I was, at the same time, excited and also like, 'Oh no,' 'cause I had nothing [prepared]. So I got there and that's what I said, I said, 'Oh no!'"

Samberg is not nominated again this year. He is, however presenting an award.
