The Smashing Pumpkins lead singer Billy Corgan announced that he is now a father to baby Augustus Juppiter Corgan. He and Chloe Mendel welcomed their son on Nov. 16, his rep confirmed to E! News.
It's clear the singer is quite the pro when it comes to keeping his private life private as he managed to keep the baby's birth a secret for over a month. As for the singer-songwriter's discreet partner, Mendel is an artist and daughter of fashion designers Gilles Mendel and Jenny Mui.
While the 48-year-old was previously married and linked to several notable female Hollywood figures, including Courtney Love and Jessica Simpson, this is the first child for Corgan. Previously, he has opened up about his hesitation when it comes to having kids.
"I've never had any kids," he told Alternative Press in 2010. "I think there's some sort of mystical connection in my mind that my father's father didn't claim him and my father didn't claim me. That has everything to do with why I don't have children."
It seems this singer's tune has changed since five years ago.
