Gary Gershoff/Getty ImagesTracy Morgan has come a long way after suffering from a traumatic brain injury in a June 2014 car accident, and he's not taking one minute of that for granted.
In his latest interview with Complex magazine, the Saturday Night Live alumni opens up about life after the horrifying incident and why he's taking things day by day.
"You're never going to be normal after you go through something like that," he began by saying. "You don't die for a few weeks and then come back to normal, trust me. Something's going to be missing, something's going to be gained—you just got to live your life after that."
The 47-year-old added, "But after surviving something like that, I'm probably never going to feel normal. I went to the other side. This is not something I'm making up. Do you know what God said to me? He said, 'Your room ain't ready. I still got something for you to do.' And here I am, doing an interview with you."
And when asked about his plans for the future, Morgan explained, "I try not to do that. Just living my life, man. When the sun's up, I try to get it on and poppin'. When the sun is up, I try to make it happen. That's what I'm doing, whatever it is! I'm going to do it until I'm satisfied."
Just last month, days after his impressive hosting gig on SNL, Morgan announced plans for a stand-up tour titled "Picking Up the Pieces."
"Heading back out on the road to bring the funny," Morgan shared on his Twitter. "Come see me."
According to the schedule, the stand-up tour will begin Feb 5. in Hammond, Ill., and conclude on May 28 in Westhampton Beach, New York.
