Adele's big day has finally arrived and she has some words she wants to share directly with her fans.

Just hours after the release of her greatly awaited third studio album, the Grammy winner penned a brief, but emotional letter to her millions of fans and posted it to her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

"This feels like such a long time coming, my new album is finally out," she began, describing her multi-year hiatus. "I am so overwhelmed and grateful to be able to even put another record out, and put it out how I want."

Just days before 25 hit shelves and online stores, it was confirmed that the songstress would not allow popular music streaming sites like Apple Music and Spotify to release her tracks for their users. If anyone wanted to hear the new album, they were going to have to buy it the old fashioned way.

1 week to go!

"The last month has been a whirlwind, its literally taken my breath away," Adele continues in the heartfelt message. "I hope you enjoy the record as much as I enjoyed making it for you."

A "whirlwind" is an understatement. After the surprise release of her first single, "Hello," and accompanying black and white video, the music world essentially exploded. The single track broke a handful of world records, including most downloads in its first week of any song in history, beating Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" to become the music video with the most views within the first 24 hours and exceeding Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" as the fastest video to gain Vevo certified status, which means it acquired 100 million views in just five days. It's definitely been a whirlwind.

If that isn't enough, she packed Radio City in New York City with A-list celebrities as she filmed a one-night-only concert special and is schedule to be SNL's musical guest for the first time in eight years on Nov. 21.

Adele, we'll certainly be seeing you on the other side...of your much-needed nap.
