Calling all dog lovers!

Aziz Ansari recently partnered up with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Amy Poehler's Smart Girls webseries, Heavy Petting, to lend his voice to an adorable pooch in need of a loving home.

In the hilarious video, the Master of None star voices a Maltese mix named Buddy, who—despite his small stature—packs a powerful New York City punch with an attitude (and accent!) to match.

"I chew with my mouth open because that's how we do it in New York," Ansari jokes as the pup gets busy munching on a snack. In the end, Ansari admits "the whole tough guy thing is a bit exhausting" and reveals Buddy's sweet side. Aww!

The comedian wasn't the only Parks and Recreation star to get involved in the awesome project.

Aubrey Plaza and Nick Offerman also bring to light what canines are actually thinking when they tilt their heads and wag their tails.

Plaza became one with Madison, a 2-year-old Terrier mix, who has a penchant for reading chewing books, and Offerman takes on Kiki, an American bulldog whose true passion is exploring the great outdoors. No word on whether Kiki is also a Libertarian.
