Everyone is still working to move forward from the attacks on Paris, but Trevor Noah took a moment Monday night to laud Parisians and the rest of the world for staying strong in the face of a scary time.

"I feel like our lives are defined by moments," Noah explained. "Dinner with family, taking a nice drive together...and I think the reason it's so painful is because often terrorism seeks to replace these moments with death and fear."

But despite all the "fear" Parisians and others feel, Noah noted that everyone still has the ability to open their hearts and help each other because at the end of the day if one person is hurt, it's as if everyone is hurt.

"We're all afraid. We replace that fear with anger a lot of the time, but I think what we should try to choose to do is not focus on the perpetrators, because every attack—whether it's Paris, Beirut, Kenya—seems less about a specific group and more about an attack on humanity itself," he continued.

"The one thing that made me smile was people of Paris showed us is the only way to over come inhumanity is with humanity."

Although Paris is trying to heal slowly but surely, Noah reminded viewers to remember to have compassion. "Our prayers will be with Paris. Our prayers are with the people," he said, "but let's not forget before we fight, to love."

Of course, with Noah being the host of The Daily Show he made sure to inject some humor into the situation.

"I will say you're ruining our cultural stereotypes because the French are supposed to be cold and unwelcoming, and then you go and do these beautiful things," he joked. "Who do we make jokes about now? Finland? Because we will. We will make jokes about Finland if we have to."

Sorry, Finland.
