Law & Order: SVU finally took on the Duggars and the surrounding scandals (minus the Ashley Madison account) and it was as twisted as you'd expect. In "Patrimonial Burden," the squad met the Baker family, a virtuous reality TV family that found its 13-year-old daughter suddenly pregnant? Who did it? That's where the twists came in.

"He wouldn't hurt me. He loves me," Lane told Mariska Hargitay's Olivia Benson.

"He loves you?" Benson asked. "You promised not to say, so how about you write it down and that way you're not breaking your promise."

Lane fingered guest star Chris Elliot, a cameraman on the reality show. He had footage of the kids he should've deleted. Too easy though, right? He had a vasectomy! And the Duggars exist in this world, according to Rollins. "Look at what happened with the Duggars..." Kelli Giddish's character said. And get this, she found evidence of wrongdoing (the mom covered up another daughter's pregnancy) by binging the reality show. Hey, she's on desk duty. So it wasn't the camera guy, it was the creepy son! Just kidding, it wasn't. That's too on the nose for SVU. Turns out it was Ryan Devlin's character, the lawyer/pastor (we never trusted him since Veronica Mars anyway), put it out there it was the creepy son, so they sent him away on a mission. But—twist!—it was really Devlin's character. He got the older daughter pregnant and the 13-year-old. And he was this close to marrying (!) Lane. She just turned 14 and he convinced the parents that he would help her and her unborn kid. They didn't know he was the father, until Benson got there and Benson sure as heck made sure they knew the truth. They nailed him.

Meanwhile, Rollins suffered a little pregnancy setback, sending her to the hospital. Executive producer Warren Leight revealed Giddish filmed the episode four days before giving birth. The character is fine, and her scare gave us a great scene between Rollins and Carisi (Peter Scanavino).

Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays, 9 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
