Derek Jeter may be retired from baseball but he isn't done breaking records.

The owner of the most hits in Yankees franchise history may have just smashed the record for mass devastation caused by news of an engagement.

That's right, the 41-year-old is engaged to Hannah Davis, the thoroughly calculated next step in Jeter's storied life now that his playing days, on and off the field, are over.

We always gave the New York-based superstar props for being self-aware enough to know that it would be better to hold off on tying the knot until he could actually focus on being a husband, rather than split his attention between shortstop and domestic duties.

And apparently a lot of his fans appreciated his bachelor status for the past 20 years too, although it looks like his enduring stretch of singledom may have played with a few minds...
