When you hear someone say they want to be like George Clooney, you generally assume they mean that they want to be a single bachelor or bachelorette for life (even though Clooney is now happily married). But not Eva Longoria; she has Clooney-esque aspirations for her career, not love life.

"I want to be the female George Clooney," the 40-year-old actress says in the August issue of InStyle. "He directs, produces and stars. I want to be in charge of the final product."

The star of the upcoming NBC series Hot & Bothered also spilled on her relationship with businessman José Antonio Bastón.

"I'm in a happy place right now, so it's easy to be open and in love," she tells the mag.

Longoria recently spoke at the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) Media Summit luncheon about Donald Trump's racist remarks about Mexicans, and she opened up to InStyle about her passion for being an advocate for Latino causes.

"We're the fastest-growing demographic in the United States, but I don't want us to just be a large group," she says. "We have to be influential. We have to stand for something."

The Devious Maids producer was just snapped showing off her rocking bikini body in a blue bathing suit while vacationing in Spain, but the beauty tip she offered up in the interview unfortunately didn't reveal the secret to her six-pack.

I've been using individual fake eyelashes since my pageant days," she reveals. "Squeeze the glue out and let it dry for a minute before applying lashes. If you put them in the glue right away, they slide like crazy.

False eyelashes and a sharp mind? Look out, Clooney!
