In commemoration of June's Immigrant Heritage Month, Zendaya sat down with her parents for an intimate conversation about the origin of her name and their family tree.

The 18-year-old former Disney star partnered with Welcome.us to film the PSA, which has also featured stories from President Barack Obama, Pitbull and Dania Ramirez, to help inspire others to embrace their identity.

"I'm proud of the fact that I know where I'm from," she shares in the video. "Being a young person, it's so important that I teach other young people to be aware of who they are. I started off literally from birth knowing exactly who I was. It's all in my name."

The singer-actress's parents, Claire Stoermer and Kazembe Ajamu, also opened up to their talented daughter about their family's various journeys across the world.

"My mother's proud of where she's from, and her history, and her past, and same with my dad," the talented starlet explains. "I have roots in Africa. Like, I am from Africa as well as from Germany, and I am very proud of that."

Of her full name, Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, she says it's more than just a simple label.

"For me, I get a mixture of all the worlds..." Zendaya says. "I have my African first name, I have a middle name that is [my mom's] middle name, which is French, but we did it African spelling, so it's literally me in a name. And then you have Stoermer, and then you have Coleman. I literally have, like, a timeline in history in my name."

It's safe to say that no matter where she's heading, Zendaya will always know where she came from.
