UPDATE: Listen up, Smilers. A source tells us that the latest Miley Cyrus track is "not new music." It turns out that "Nightmare" was recorded over two years ago and was a demi the pop star originally wrote for another artist.

________

Hold up!

She may still be working on a follow-up album to her smash hit Bangerz, but new music leaked online yesterday and we're hoping this means more is on the way.

A four-minute track dubbed "Nightmare" surfaced and it's safe to say that it's a huge departure from her more hip-hop heavy songs off the aforementioned album.

The upbeat, synth-heavy song shows off Cyrus' killer vocals as she sings about a breakup—and to be fair, it's still unclear whether it's a new single and about Patrick Schwarzenegger or an old track about her former fiancé Liam Hemsworth.

"I woke up in a broken dream/With no one lying next to me/It's not how it's supposed to be/So why'd he have to go?" Cyrus is heard saying.

"I'm the only one breaking plates/The quiet's getting loud/One more night alone, I'll go insane/I need to hold you now."

But that wasn't the only new music we heard from the Paper magazine cover girl.

Late last night, the former Disney darling posted a clip on Instagram of her singing along to her idol Dolly Parton's big hit "9 To 5" while covered in zit cream. Of course she did, right?

"Dolly!!!! 9 2 5!!!! Zit cream!!!! Pups! Making #dirtyhippie art!!!!!!! Life is goooood let's be happy and make outs happppppyyyyyyyyyyy the rest is just a bunch of kaka," she wrote alongside the video.

And it should be noted that Cyrus and Parton aren't just good gal pals…It turns out that the country legend is actually the 22-year-old's godmother!

Back when Cyrus was first causing a ruckus following her MTV VMA's twerk-fest, Parton rushed to her defense in an interview with London's Standard.

"I don't think people really realize yet what a great singer and writer she really is," she gushed. "I've loved her through the years and watched her grow up, and I've seen how smart she is and how talented she is…She's just trying to find her own place and wings and learn to fly."
