School is out, weather is warm and lattes are on ice—summer has officially arrived. You may have already picked out that killer bathing suit to wear for poolside selfies, but have you established a beauty look to match? If not, never fear: E! Style Collective member and vlogger Carly Cristman has shared her tips to get a fresh makeup look that can withstand all-day play.
Hydrate skin: First, Carly suggested priming skin for makeup with a hydrating moisturizer designed to decrease fine lines, like Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream Moisturizer.
Go for cream-based products: There's a fine line between dewy and oily. Carly stays on the right side by applying a liquid foundation directly on the surface of her blending brush. After dotting foundation on the forehead, nose, chin and cheeks, she blended the makeup for coverage that looks even but fresh.
To brighten up cheeks, Cristman reached for a cream-based blush, which can help skin looking alive rather than cake-y.
Try light products that deliver long wear: For makeup that lasts into the night without looking heavy, the vlogger depended on two trusty beauty products that can withstand the elements: waterproof mascara (an essential in a season of impromptu pool parties) and a lip stain (which can look more natural than sticky glosses).
