Watch What Happens When This Dad Skips Tradition to Celebrate His Tomboy Daughter's Wedding Her Way

Weddings can be cheesy, over-the-top and often times tedious in their formula, but for some reason everyone shuts up with their cynicism when it comes to the daddy-daughter dance. There's just something about seeing those two on the dance floor that makes even the biggest skeptic stop rolling their eyes, if only for a moment. Until the "Electric Slide" comes on, of course.

This particular father-daughter dance moment really got us choked up because not only is the dad honoring who his little girl was to him growing up, but he's honoring who she is now as a married woman.

"My daughter has always found her own path. She played Flag football at 6. She hated wearing dresses. She wore a tuxedo to her first communion. She lettered in Soccer and Track. She then became an Engineer for the largest automaker in the world when she was 22," Jim Mickunas writes on YouTube. "I could not imagine having a traditional father daughter dance with her. That is not what we were or are...So I came up with this.  She had no idea!"

Watch what happens when Jim stops the typical slow dance to Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World" to show his daughter how they should be celebrating her marriage. We warn you: it'll tug at your heartstrings, so you might want to anchor them down to something!
