Cannes may have come to a close, but the French Riviera awaits! Whether you're headed on a weekend excursion or planning a summer getaway, a vacation is a must. The headache that is packing? Not so much.

Luckily, celeb stylist and E! Style Collective member Lindsay Albanese was prepping her own carry-on essentials and shared some TSA-friendly pointers along the way.

Style can be functional: Whether it's the Mediterranean or Mexico, sun coverage is essential. Protect yourself from those harmful UV rays with a wide-brim hat, sunglasses and SPF.

"I don't bake in the sun at all," the celeb stylist noted. "I always bring a rub-on tanner, which takes me from pasty to sun goddess. It also makes me feel alive and like I'm on vacation."

Pack light and roll with it: When it comes to packing for a beachy destination, Lindsay lives and breathes by longer dresses and lightweight fabrics. Plus, the space-saving pieces roll up nicely in a suitcase; just don't forget the handheld steamer!

"In Cannes, you go to a lot of yacht parties and you always have to take your shoes off. (They don't want you to scuff the floors)," she noted. "I always feel less dressed up when in a short dress and barefoot, so I like to wear a midi or maxi because then even when I take off my shoes, I still feel dressed."

Opt for a midi-shift dress with an abstract print. "It's breathable, easy to wear, and functional—you can run around during the day and it's not too fussy," she noted. Just don't forget to complement the look with a statement necklace that echoes the lines in the dress.

NEWS: And the best dressed winner at Cannes is...

Mix prints: For the one-off event with no clear dress code, try a printed jumpsuit. It oozes sophistication and can be dressed down or up depending on accessories.

"I go by the rule of a two-print maximum," said the stylist, pairing the piece with a killer pair of yellow stilettos. "If you have two strong prints that can be paired together, you can't lose."

Double it up: Don't forget a Lucite clutch, which pairs well with almost anything and is perfect for storing jewelry and other delicate items in your luggage. Flat clutches are also great for storing your phone chargers and beauty items. Can you say space-saver?

Go for the unexpected: For the grand premiere party—or your own special event—really turn heads with a silhouette that's less expected (read: put that ball gown down).

"I love a touch of androgyny in clothes," Lindsay said. "Sharp tailoring really pulls you together and makes you look long and lean. I particularly like the contrast between black and white."

Take care of yourself: One day abroad might involve four or five wardrobe changes for this industry pro, but one thing that should always stays the same? A healthy beauty regimen.

TIPS: You may be treating your sunburn wrong

"Two things that I need, especially in my 30s, are anti-aging products and glow," she said. "As you get older, your skin gets a little duller. Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream helps with that."

The stylist also takes beauty sleep quite literally, opting for a bold, silk two-piece PJ set.

"I'm not just going to wear my husband's shirt when I go to bed," she said. "I'm going to be as equally fabulous when I go to sleep."
