Some relationships come and go, but our love for George Clooney never ends.

Long before the A-list actor won Oscar awards and married Amal Clooney, the handsome gentleman was simply a guy hoping to get into broadcasting.

"I was going to be a television personality because my father had been in Cincinnati for 35 years," George shared with E! News all the way back in 1990. "I was never going to be as good as my dad is in Cincinnati. He was a big hit so I was always going to be Nick Clooney's son so I had to come up with something different."

Luckily, his entire family was in the industry "one way or another." In fact, his cousin Miguel was starring in a successful CBS series when George was doing some job searching.

"Since baseball was fading away right around that point, Miguel said why don't you come try a little acting in L.A. and I was always  pretty good at things I did right away," George confessed. "I was kind of lucky that way. Anything I tried to pick up, I could kind of get just enough to say ‘I got it' and acting was one of those things that I picked up."

He continued, "I had no clue and still don't and I'm still going ‘what the hell am I doing?'" With successful roles in ER, Up In the Air, Tomorrowland and countless other projects, we'd beg to differ.

"It's one of those things that keeps your interest," George shared with E! News. "It's been eight years since I've started and it's kept my interest."

On this Throwback Thursday, there's just one more thing that needs to be mentioned: The hair! While he still looks great with shoulder-length style, we dig the salt and pepper look today just a tad bit more. Keep doing your thing, George!
