We adore Bonnie Hunt. Hear that? Adore. Fiercely. So when we originally ran a bitchy little jab about how we weren't exactly thrilled with her latest incarnation, The Bonnie Hunt Show, we heard back from those putting the gab piece together they were none too pleased. We apologized. Said we'd love to run something fun and inside from the show, something funny coming up, perhaps? Heard nada back. Until now, and this from a downhearted insider worker bee. They bitch:

"Why do TV execs love to churn out the same boring talk shows that are doomed for failure? Think Megan Mullally, Tony Danza, Jane Pauley, Sharon Osbourne? I have the sad distinction of being on the first new talk show that will be canceled this year," complained Deep Hunt, adding that ratings are as low as my potty humor, not to mention the set's swarming with overly worried execs.

A rep from the big guns running everything (Warner's TV) did ring back, and they insist that mean competitors are spreading evil things about our gal Bonnie, and that the show's ratings, low as they may be, are "not horrible," and are "right where we expected them to be" for a show just getting started—and that they have no plans to cancel.

So relieved, B.H.! Uh, right? Still, be nice to see you get back to the bigger pic, those movies your supporting chops are so sharp in, or TV better suited to your arch sass. Do something about how women in their 40s are treated like, well, failed talk-show hosts, in this town. That would be something to chatter about.
