Perfecting the pant roll, adding textures to a monochrome look, tucking in your shirt at the right angle—all seemingly insignificant things, but when executed right, it can mean the difference between rolling up your sleeves after a hard day's work and high-fashion fare.

To help us bridge the gap, we turned to celebrity stylist and E! Style Collective member Lindsay Albanese to help us create a strong fashion foundation. Today, Albanese shows us how to do the perfect sleeve cuff. Hey, it's the most basic details that can have the greatest impact.

"We all know the way we did it in grade school," said Lindsay, referring to the cuff of a burrito roll-like method. "But the street style way to do it—and editorial way—starts with taking the bottom of the sleeve, and you bring it up as high as you want," the stylist suggested.

1. Turn the edge of the cuff upward.

2. Drag the cuff edge up to the bicep.

3. Fold the sleeve again, stopping an inch or two away from your bicep.

4. Gently tug at the rolled sleeve the to smooth out the fabric.

5. Fold the sleeve upward one more time, stopping an inch or two from the sleeve's natural edge. Depending on the shirt, this should create a tighter fit on the sleeve.

6. Rotate the sleeve along the arm so the shirt cuff is turned out.

"You don't want to hide the cuff!" Lindsay noted. "The cuff is the best part."

The best tip, Lindsay reminded us, is not to try too hard. Style should feel natural.
