With the phenomenal success of the High School Musical franchise (part three to be released this week), Soup Blog sources have reported rumored Disney plans to continue the series—the delightful, Zac Efron-starring tale of six talented students—with a fourth installment, High School Musical: Stoned and Dancing

“We’ve basically exhausted all the obvious situations these sweet, model-like kids can engage in,” stated an anonymous Mouse source. “So why not push the envelope while it’s still open and cash in?”

HSM: SAD is reportedly based around the squeaky-clean pals being introduced to marijuana by a “hip” art teacher (sources say the role will go to Paul Giamatti), which causes shy transfer student Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens) to challenge Efron’s basketball star Troy Bolton to a “Battle of the Bongs” contest in the parking lot. Loser Troy, tremendously high and paranoid, hides behind the gym, ignoring the championship basketball game. Ultimately finding true love with Montez, who is pregnant by Troy’s strung-out best friend Chad Danforth (Corbin Bleu), they move into Troy’s PT Cruiser, where he supports them by selling weed to younger students.

“We’ll probably put in some flashbacks, just so there’s dancing,” stated the source.
