So this is what 36 looks like.

Kate Hudson celebrated her Apr. 19 birthday over the weekend with two birthday buddies: fashion writer Derek Blasberg, who turned 33 on Apr. 22, and jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer, who turned 38 on Apr. 23. Jessica Alba, Sara Foster, Derek Hough, James Marsden, Samantha Ronson and Suki Waterhouse were among the famous guests who attended the joint party.

The private party took place in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

The theme was "hot mess," and Hudson made sure to look the part. In addition to wearing heavy, smeared makeup, the Something Borrowed star wore sunglasses, fishnet tights, biker boots, a bikini top, a fur coat and a trucker hat. "She was dancing sexily with lots of guests and seemed very relaxed," a source tells E! News.

Meyer, meanwhile, chose clashing leopard prints and tacky, cheap jewelry. In one of his Instagram captions, Blasberg joked, "Last night me and these lovely ladies had a threesome birthday party and the theme was 'Hot Mess' and none of us needed to go shopping for costumes."

As for Alba? "[She] was hot," Blasberg wrote on Instagram. "I was a mess."

In addition to hiring a DJ, there were two open bars and a full dessert room, a source reveals. Hudson also transformed the back garden into an extended lounge area with fairy lights and outdoor furniture.

Meyer's husband, Tobey Maguire, was not photographed. However, Foster took a picture of the three guests of honor and posted it on Instagram, joking, "Our standard Saturday night usually looks like this."

Hudson shared a picture with her 1.1 million Instagram fans Sunday. "No better way to celebrate a Bday then having a joint 'Hot Mess' themed party with @derekblasberg and @jenmeyerjewelry And let me tell ya, there were some very committed hot messes last night," she wrote. "Such fun! Love you guys."

That same morning, Meyer uploaded a picture of herself with Blasberg and Hudson on Instagram. She jokingly wrote that she was "clearly needing to recover from last night with my two birthday babies."

The party proved that Hudson is still a kid at heart. It also proves that she's not worried about getting older. In fact, just two years ago, the actress admitted to Shape that she's embracing the aging process.

"I'm finding that the parts are more interesting as I get older, which is great because I'm planning to do it for the rest of my life," Hudson explained. "I remember Kurt [Russell] asking me when I was younger, 'Why are you choosing to act? Because if you're doing it for stardom, it's a very small window. If you're choosing it because you love it, you're in the right profession.' And that's true of any career, actually."
