It's just so emo

The brooding YA hero is a character we all know and love—or sometimes love to hate.

We see him everywhere: In Gossip Girl, in Twilight, in The Fault In Our Stars. He has a dark past, but he's trying to overcome. He has piercing blue eyes. He drives a pickup truck, and when he gives you a ride home one day you'll feel both nervous and exhilarated. When you finally see him with his shirt off, he'll probably have tattoos and shocking scars, both of which you'll gently graze with your finger.

And now finally, someone has gone and given this dark, quiet man hunk his very own Twitter page. And, naturally, it's called @BroodingYAHero. The tweets are a hilarious collection of, well, brooding thoughts about things like his overwhelming amount of secrets, or the fact that he is always (always!) ridiculously good-looking. Oh, and don't bother asking, because he knows he smokes and drinks too much—and he also knows you'll like him, anyway.

He's not the YA hero we deserve, but he's the one we need right now.
