Seth Rogen's kidding around with cancer (and no, we're not kidding).

The Superbad star is going where no funnyman has gone before, signing on for a supporting role in I'm With Cancer, about one man's battle to beat the dread disease.

Hahahahaha...

Per the Hollywood Reporter, Rogen will also produce the Will Reiser-penned flick with partner Evan Goldberg and Ben Karlin, the former head writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

The story's based on Reiser's own story, focusing on his diagnosis with cancer at the age of 25 and how he uses comedy to cope with his mortality.

In other action on the casting couch:

  • Josh Brolin is in negotiations to play a partially disfigured gunslinging bounty hunter in Jonah Hex, Warner Bros.' feature film based on the popular '70s DC Comics property, according to Variety.
  • Former Hulk Eric Bana is in talks to topline Armored, F. Gary Gray's English-language remake of the French twist-laden crime drama Le Convoyeur, about an employee at an armored car company whose coworkers invite him to join a heist.
  • Rebecca Mader, aka the pistol-packing, redheaded anthropologist Charlotte on Lost, is hot for Men Who Stare at Goats. The thriller is based on a true story of a reporter (Ewan McGregor) who encounters a former military man (George Clooney) who claims to be part of a secret army battalion. Mader would play McGregor's wife. Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges also star.
