Look! Up in the sky! It's a...Hilary Swank?!
Indeed, the actress is throwing herself into her new role as an aviator for the upcoming Amelia Earhart biopic—going so far as to get her pilot's license, sources tell E! News.
"The producers wanted her to take a few flight lessons just so she'd look comfortable behind the wheel of the plane for the film. But you know Hilary, she doesn't do anything halfway. She's decided to go ahead and just get a license."
Her manager, Jason Wineberg, who said he couldn't comment on her flight lessons, did confirm, "Hilary is in heavy preproduction. She is preparing for her role as Amelia Earhart."
According to our insiders, several times a week Swank makes her way to Santa Monica Airport for flying lessons. (For those of you keeping track, that's the same place Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were trained.)
For now, she takes flight under the guidance of an instructor, but she should be independent enough to fly on her own very soon, says our source.
Now, that's preparation. This girl ain't a two-time Oscar winner for nothing!
