Don't Hire Kate Beckinsale to Babysit

Parenting is hard. Real hard. Try-not-to-drop-your-baby-out-of-a-window hard. Just ask Kate Beckinsale, who tells this month’s Mean magazine that she can’t understand why more people don’t commit infanticide.   

Her daughter is nine now, so presumably the Snow Angels star managed to suppress her more Medean impulses. But Beckinsale doesn’t sound like much of a hand-on mom:

Babies show up as themselves. I really do believe you can f--k a person up terribly by being a bad parent, but they arrive kind of 80 percent baked, and that 20 percent is crucial, but they do show up with personality.
