Between Aretha Franklin demanding she be the only queen of music and Natalie Cole blasting the Grammys for rewarding Amy Winehouse's drug habit, we were beginning to wonder what was up with all these crotchety older women.

Fortunately, we have Janet Jackson (who is neither old nor crotchety) to peer-mediate among the divas. Here's what she told E!'s Daily 10 of the Winehouse-Cole debacle:

I hear where Natalie is coming from, and I think she would understand it better than I could because she's been there. She's been addicted to drugs and had those issues. I could see her side of it, for sure, and it's kind of a catch-22 for myself, because it does feel like someone is being rewarded for a negative act.

And then I think about it, and I'm not saying it's right, but the music business has always been about sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll.

Fair, logical—and no doubt she said this with her smooth-like-butter voice that always makes everything okay.

Therefore, any further issues various divas may have with year's Grammy Awards ceremony should be taken up with Ms. Jackson.
