The Golden Globes: What Did You Think?

There it is. No red carpet. No musical numbers. No boring speeches. No running late. Just a half hour of Golden Globes winners announced from a podium. 

And other than the awkward banter served up by some of the presenters, we liked it. It was quick and relatively painless—and made tallying up our scorecard a much easier affair.

We don't think this means the end of awards shows as we know 'em, but organizers can certainly learn something from this simplified format.

At least that's our take. How about you? Did you miss the pomp and circumstance or appreciate the shortened show?
