Peter Mountain / Dreamworks There it is. No red carpet. No musical numbers. No boring speeches. No running late. Just a half hour of Golden Globes winners announced from a podium.
And other than the awkward banter served up by some of the presenters, we liked it. It was quick and relatively painless—and made tallying up our scorecard a much easier affair.
We don't think this means the end of awards shows as we know 'em, but organizers can certainly learn something from this simplified format.
