It's all about the subject

Despite what the blogs say, street style is not just about the, well...style.

"It's the way real people digest fashion," said Yvan Rodic, one of the first purveyors of street style photography.

The street style star is not just a photogenic socialite—but an individual with a unique perspective, alluring personality and, of course, a confident smile.

"I feel [like] the street has become one of the newer red carpets," said the E! Style Collective member in the video above, presented 3D Crest White Whitestrips.

The famed photographer first began capturing street culture almost 10 years ago when fashion blogs were few and far between. Today, he is better known as the Face Hunter, whose site receives about 1 million hits a month.

"When people look at my photos, I like them to be inspired and moved," he said. "I want them to be like, ‘Wow, this person is someone I'd like to meet."

For him, it is what's "behind the beauty"—the aura, the body language, the truly authentic.

He admits he rarely asks his subjects to smile, but rather he instigates genuine smiles with his own words and actions.

It's this approach that makes his photos truly picture-perfect.
