Watch: Bill Clinton Talks Changing Diapers for Baby Charlotte

Former president Bill Clinton has added another, very particular New Year's resolution to go along with all of those global initiatives and world-saving and whatnot.

The new grandfather says that he'd like to take up the saxophone again, so then he can wail for granddaughter Charlotte, Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky's first child together.

"That's what I'd like to do," Clinton said during a sit-down on Rachael Ray, airing Thursday. "I've actually resolved this year to start playing my horn again. Also, I want to play for my granddaughter."

But while grandpa Bill may have the lullabies covered in the near future, is he helping to pitch in with some of the less pleasant babysitting tasks that go hand in hand with all the cuteness?

"I'd be happy to change diapers, you know," began the former commander in chief, "but today you've got to put all that anti-chafe stuff on their rear...there's more moving parts there than when I was a dad."

Hmm, we're pretty sure there were just as many moving parts when Chelsea was a baby...

"But it's OK," Clinton continued. "It was, 'Clean 'em off, put the talc on...' But I love it. The whole thing is great."

Just as is the case when it comes to the global economy, the Middle East peace process, et al, Clinton will reliably wax rhapsodic on the subject of his granddaughter.

"I love it. Like every other grandfather, I think my granddaughter's the greatest thing since sliced bread," he said on Late Night With Seth Meyers a couple weeks ago. "It's so fun. So far my daughter has not had to discipline [Charlotte's] overly exuberant grandparents too much."

And on Ellen in November, Clinton said, "the biggest hoot for me is watching them wake up to the world...She never cries. She just soaks things up and if my mind worked like that, I'd be so happy."

As for Hillary Clinton, Bill said that his wife is " a doting, giddy, deliriously happy grandmother."
