President Barack Obama knows by now how to handle a really awkward situation in stride.

Case in point: earlier this week the leader of the free world met up with YouTube comedian GloZell Green for a quick sit-down chat and it only took a hot minute for things to get super cringe-worthy.

"My mama says whenever you go to somebody's house you have to give them something. Don't come empty-handed," she said, after asking the president a series of serious questions about race, cybersecurity and foreign affairs.

She then pulled out three tubes of her signature green lipstick and proceeded to hand them to Obama.

"One for your first wife…" she said, to which the president immediately replied, "My first wife?! Do you know something I don't?"

Green nervously corrected herself, "Oh, for first lady! And the first children! I'm sorry!"

"Oh, I'm teasing," Obama said with a big grin.

And while the president appeared to have taken the uncomfortable situation lightly, many others did not.

Rob Lowe tweeted a photo of Green in a bathtub filled with cereal and wrote, "Hold up. Is it true that a woman who eats cereal out of a bathtub gets to meet with the President and the Prime Minister of Israel does not?...For those who aren't up to speed, here is the woman who had an official meeting with POTUS yesterday."

Meanwhile, MSNBC's Ronan Farrow interviewed Green after her now-infamous interview with Obama. Click here for the sneak peek!
