Sadly it was comedy legend Robin Williams and the story of his tragic suicide that was this year's highest-selling magazine for both People and In Touch, according to a report by AdWeek. The late star covered both publications' August 25 issues.

As for Us Weekly, it was Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and husband Joe Giudice's legal dramas (and pending incarceration) which caused magazines to fly off the shelves. And finally, where would tabloids be without the royals? Kate Middleton's second pregnancy announcement gave Star its best seller of 2014.

On the opposite end of the sales spectrum, Hillary Clinton's People cover—you know, the one some were saying looked like former secretary of state was using a walker—was a dud on newsstands. Also, lagging was an interest in Us Weekly's Winter Olympics coverage, Demi Moore and Bruce Willis' supposed troubled daughters as alleged by Star and former Bachelorette stars  J.P. and Ashley's baby announcement on the cover of In Touch.

A report on the year's highs and lows for monthly magazines has yet to be released. But who thinks Kimye's Vogue cover will be the winner?
