Not to be overdramatic or anything, but it's true. Check this out.

The no-introduction-needed Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Jarhead) is set to direct a movie about a couple who drive around America looking for the perfect place to settle down. There's a story that hooks me off the bat.

They're calling it, for now, This Must Be the Place, and literary hero Dave Eggers and his wife, Vendela Vida, wrote the script. And they, like, writes novels and stuff, and Eggers has a great sense of humor, so it might actually be funny. There might be depth of character, or something.

It may not seem like a Kate Hudson-Matthew McConaughey festival of not-so-funny, over-the-top cuteness (neat!), and that's because Idiocracy's finest, Maya Rudolph, and The Office's king of loaded glances, John Krasinski, are on board to couple up onscreen.

So yes, I say it again: If they mess up this movie, all hope for entertainment and humanity is lost. So help me, if news breaks that someone like Robin Williams or Amy Poehler has so much as a small part, I will be crushed. This is easily the most promising collaboration put out there this year. Hope lives!
