If you feel a little bit frisky today—like you might don a pastel scarf and a pair of Ray-Bans and pose for some imaginary paparazzi—blame it on the Swagdance Film Festival, which kicks off today. Oops. Sundance. Right. Everyone who's not focusing solely on the free goodies is talking about the movies. These flicks are topping the must-see (in between gift-suite perusing) lists:
In Bruges: Hit men botch a job, violence and philosophical musings ensue. Colin Farrell gets his artsy, manly man mojo up.
What Just Happened? Once upon a time, Sundance was about unknown upstarts. Happened stars Robert De Niro and Bruce Willis. Director? This young prodigy by the name of Barry Levinson. Wow, could stars be born?! Maybe, just maybe!
The Wackness: Stoner dramedy featuring a makeout session between Ben Kingsley and Mary-Kate Olsen. On the plus side, they make out. On the negative side, Olsen has been box-office poison—see Factory Girl (deserved more love than it got) and New York Minute (deserves to be at the bottom of the bin at Rite Aid).
The Great Buck Howard: Two total unknowns—wait, what are their names again? Oh, yeah. Tom Hanks and John Malkovich. Need I say more? Didn't think so.
Anyway, here's the question that's really got gift-suite-goers in a tizzy.
