It turns out Blake Lively is even luckier than we thought. In addition to having Ryan Reynolds for a husband, it sounds as though she ended up with three amazing brothers-in-law as well!

In an essay he penned for Time's "Time for Thanks" column, the daddy-to-be shared his own personal version of a family "Blue Moon," a "rare and spectacular" turn of events he has ever been thankful for, right in time for Thanksgiving.

While you have to read the actor's words to get the full picture, basically it goes that, when the future Green Lantern star was 13, he decided he wanted to get his ears pierced.

His three older brothers assured him that a hole in his earlobe assured certain doom at the hands of their father, Jim. "A former cop, former boxer and full-time landmine," per Reynold's account.

Like the three bears, the eldest brother assured the youngest that he would die, that "if Dad sees that thing in your ear, he's gonna release your soul to the wind." The next-eldest told the youngest, "Bad call. Dad's gonna turn you into a liquid, dumbass."

And then the second-youngest told the very youngest, "Earrings on dudes are lame. Especially on a dude."

But the future Sexiest Man Alive of 2010 went for it anyway...and then the most amazing thing happened.

Reynolds wrote about showing up for dinner that night, the stud in his ear screaming for his dad's attention, at least in his own mind.

"Before I could utter a single futile syllable [dad] said… 'P---ies,'" Reynolds recalled. "My head snapped up immediately. I could see he wasn't just looking at me. His confused eyes darted spastically between all four boys in shock, disbelief and directionless anger. What he was in fact looking at, were four young men, sitting at a dinner table, each, with a freshly pierced ear."

Just sit back and feel the sibling solidarity. And feel free to tell this story at your own Thanksgiving table this year.
