Star Wars: Episode VII officially has a title!

After endless speculation, Walt Disney pictures announced today that the title of the forthcoming J.J. Abrams-directed flick will be Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Disney unveiled the news via their Twitter page, while also revealing that principal photography has been completed on the highly anticipated film.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens first began filming back in May, and while little has been revealed about the flick, Abrams shared photos of the new X-Wing starfighter ship with fans in June, and—thanks to a sneaky pilot—we've also gotten a glimpse at what may be the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo's iconic spacecraft.

There was also an alleged plot leak which occurred over the summer (possible spoiler alerts ahead!). According to Badass Digest, the new movie will begin with Daisy Ridley and John Boyega's characters discovering Luke Skywalker's severed hand 30 years after Return of the Jedi ends. The duo then team up with Han Solo and Chewbacca to track down the vanquished Jedi master.

The upcoming film in the hugely successful film franchise will feature returning stars Carrie FisherHarrison Ford and Mark Hamill. The trio will join new cast members John BoyegaAdam DriverOscar IsaacAndy SerkisDomhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow and Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o

A tentative release date is scheduled for Dec. 18, 2015.
