The 19 Kids and Counting star has been documenting her pregnancy via Instagram. Derick Dillard posted a photo collage of his wife Sept. 5, showing her progress at five weeks, five days and 11 weeks, two days. The first-time father-to-be wrote, "By the end of next week, all of our baby's body parts, from tooth buds to toenails, will be developing! #firsttrimesterprogression #babydilly #19kidsandcounting."
In a second Instagram picture posted Wednesday, Duggar showed off her curves at 12 weeks, one day. "Had our 12 wk midwife appt yesterday! #babydilly #jillmdillard #derickdillard #blessedparents," Dillard captioned.
Duggar recently explained why she announced her pregnancy so early. "Understanding that the majority of miscarriages happen within the first trimester, and believing that every life is precious no matter how young, we decided to share our joyful news as soon as we could," the 23-year-old TLC reality star told The New York Post's Page Six, adding, "We knew that we weren't going to prevent having children, so when we found out we were expecting within our first month of marriage, we were thrilled!"
The newlyweds will welcome their firstborn in March—and yes, they already want more!
"I have loved having lots of brothers and sisters and although Derick comes from a family with just one brother, both of us would love to have as many children as God will give us," Duggar said. "We are also open to the possibility of adoption."
