So…third time's a charm, right?

If you're a fan of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill's 21 Jump Street remake (and their subsequent sequel), then you're in luck!

E! News can confirm that that Sony Pictures and Original Film have already begun working on 23 Jump Street with Rodney Rothman returning as the screenwriter. (Deadline was first to report the news.)

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have yet to be confirmed to direct the third installment in the successful franchise but they are reportedly overseeing the script with Rothman as co-producers with Neil Moritz.

There are also a few other major slots still open in the future film, the cast!

So far Tatum and Hill have not officially signed on to reprise their hilarious antics as Schmidt and Jenko.

However, there are multiple reports claiming that the two actors are on board as producers—so they're definitely going to be involved! Here's hoping we can see their undeniable chemistry onscreen once more...

To be fair, fans of the action-packed, hilarious movies shouldn't be too shocked by the announcement of another pic in the works.

The end of the most recent film even poked fun at the idea of making many more sequels in the future—22 more, in fact!

But when you consider the fact that 22 Jump Street grossed a whopping $320 million and cost $50 million to make, it's easy to see why another installment was inevitable.
