There's still no word on the state of Britney Spears, but the kids, at least, are alright.

While the pop star remains on "medical hold" at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, undergoing physical and psychological tests after being found to be under the influence of an unknown substance, sons Sean Preston and Jayden James are now safely back at the Tarzana home of father Kevin Federline.

Federline, 29, took the tots home early Friday morning, after he and the kids, along with Jamie Spears, Brit sidekick Sam Lutfi and a few hundred of their closest media pals, logged some quality time at the Los Angeles hospital.

Information continues to trickle out about the three-hour standoff among Spears, K-Fed's bodyguards and emergency personnel.

Police were originally called to Spears' Studio City home just after 8 p.m. Thursday night as Spears reportedly locked herself in a room of her home with one-year-old Jayden James and refused to hand him over to Federline's bodyguards, as stipulated by court order. She was supposed to return to children to Federline's care at 7.

"[The court-appointed monitor] had already put [Sean] Preston in the car when Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden," a source close to Spears told People.

Police were called to enforce the custody handoff. Eventually paramedics arrived after police determined Spears was under the influence of an unknown substance. She was removed on a gurney by emergency workers and taken to Cedars-Sinai.

As precautionary measure, the youngest Federtot was also transported by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai just after 12:30 a.m., where he was checked out by doctors. He was not treated for any injuries and was discharged into the care of his father.

Spears, 26, remains at the hospital, where she is undergoing an "evaluation" from various medical professionals. Cops have confirmed the "Gimme More" singer is on "medical hold" at Cedars-Sinai. She is expected to be held for at least 72 hours.

"For her own welfare, she was transferred to a local hospital for medical treatment," Officer April Harding said Friday.

No charges have been filed against the "Gimme More" singer.

E! News has confirmed Spears is more accurately being held on a "5150," which indicates authorities believe there's evidence she's a danger to herself as well as others.

The hospital declined comment citing patient privacy laws.

Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is expected back in Los Angeles Superior County Court Friday morning, most likely to request Court Commissioner Scott Gordon strip Spears of her remaining custody rights out of safety concerns for their children.
