But they've only just begun?!
E! News has learned that the good-looking duo's romance has fizzled after only two months of dating (complete with many PDA-packed sightings).
"It was never that serious," one source tells us about the actors, while another insider adds, "No one ever really thought of them as together, just more of summer fling and nothing serious."
But it looks like the Fast and the Furious actress wasn't too bummed by the split, as she was spotted out to dinner with friends in New York City last night.
The brunette appeared to be all smiles as she grabbed a bite to eat at Waverly Inn and an eyewitness tells us that "she was in a fantastic mood" during the night.
And earlier this morning, Rodriguez took to Instagram to give a subtle (or not-so-subtle, as the case may be) hint about how she's handling the recent change in her love life.
She showed off a snapshot of her hand with a red heart drawn in the center of her palm and wrote, "Unconditional State of Mind."
Efron and Rodriguez first made headlines after being spotted cuddling and kissing one another on a yacht in Sardinia in early July.
Shortly after the news first broke about the surprise couple, a source told E! News that "something changed" during their two-week vacation, and that the actors went from being just friends to "inseparable."
Us Weekly was the first to report their split.
