With SummerSlam happening tonight, everyone is on the edge of their seats with anticipation as we prepare to see the top WWE Superstars and Divas contend for the Championship titles.
And while we're ready to see some good old-fashioned ass kicking in the ring, there's a lot more to be excited about. We've compiled a list of the top 7 things to look forward to at this summer's most high-profile wrestling event!
7) The Bella Twin vs. the Boss's Daughter
It's the fight that everyone is talking about and can't wait to see unfold on live television. Brie Bella is challenging her boss Stephanie McMahon, who despite not having stepped into the ring in over a decade, is up to the task. Facing off against your own boss? Around the world, thousands of disgruntled employees are secretly rejoicing.
6) The Celebrity Guests
The WWE is known for its famous faces that will often show up in the ring, either as hosts or participants. Previous celebrity guests include Kim Kardashian, Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul, Snoop Dogg and Hugh Jackman. We're dying to see who might appear on this year's star-studded guest list.
5) Surprise Musical Performances
Previous musical performers at various wrestling events have included Nicole Scherzinger, who entertained audiences at WrestleMania with a rendition of "America the Beautiful," Kid Rock, and Cee Lo Green—who performed at previous SummerSlams.
4) Divas Face-Off
AJ Lee is the reigning Divas Champion but recently suffered a whiplash injury at the hands of Paige, who held the belt for 84 days before AJ reclaimed it. Both women have their own motives for revenge.
3) The Total Divas' Outfits
We love the Divas for their talent but we also love them for their incredible style and fashion and ability to turn the wrestling ring into a catwalk. It amazes us that no matter how hard they go at it in the ring, they always want to make sure that their hair is perfectly arranged and their lipstick isn't smeared. We can't wait to see what colorful and fun outfits that each woman will wear in the ring!
2) Potential Upsets
Just 'cause you think someone is gonna win doesn't mean that they are. Everyone was shocked when Brock Lesnar beat the Undertaker at WrestleMania, thereby ending his undefeated streak. So just because Dolph Ziggler may be the underdog in his match doesn't mean that he couldn't come out on top. Keep in mind that anything could happen...
1) The Ultimate Championship Match
John Cena is the face of the WWE with an endless list of accomplishments under his belt, but Brock is also physically bigger than John and beat the previously undefeated Undertaker. This match will definitely go down in WWE history.
