Quentin Tarantino fans sure have a lot to look forward to on the big screen!

The director made a surprise announcement at Comic-Con Sunday when a loyal fan asked about his post-Civil War film, The Hateful Eight. Turns out it's still a work in progress.

"Yeah. We're going to be doing [it]," he told the audience who quickly applauded the news.

Tarantino's project has been in development for some time. Back in January, pages from the screenplay appeared on Gawker, leaving the director furious. He later filed a lawsuit against the media outfit that was dismissed, refiled and then withdrawn.

The controversy caused Tarantino to reconsider Hateful Eight as his next film. But a few months later, the director announced he was working on a second draft, with another version to come.

The Hateful Eight isn't the only project the movie genius has up his sleeves.

Tarantino teased that he is working on an extended cut of Kill Bill that would likely include animated footage not included in the 2003 film.

He's also brainstorming an entirely fresh idea that involves the popular sci-fi and fantasy genres.

"If you had asked me a few years ago, I would have said: 'Nah, not really, I don't know.' But I have a little idea right now," he teased. "It's a little flower, you know, like a bean sprout, but those tend to grow into stalks. So this is the first time I'll be able to say 'maybe.' It won't be a spaceship sci-fi, it'll be Earthbound."

As long as Tarantino's name is behind it, we know the fans are going to be excited to see it.
