What started as a joke has now turned into a multi-million dollar fiasco.

Andrew Rector may have briefly fallen asleep during a New York Yankees game, but he's not amused by comments made by two ESPN announcers, Dan Shulman and John Kruk.

Rector has filed a $10 million defamation suit against not only the commentators, but ESPN as a whole, as well as the MLB.

He claims that he was subjected to an "unending verbal crusade" by Shulman and Kruk, and that the jokes made at his expense caused him "emotional distress."

The court documents also claim that, "ESPN cameras focused on the plaintiff, Announcers like Dan Shulman and John Kruck unleashed avalanche of disparaging words against the person of and concerning the plaintiff. These words, include but not limited to 'stupor, fatty, unintelligent, stupid."

And ESPN has already come forward to make a formal statement denying the claims, saying, "The comments attributed to ESPN and our announcers were clearly not said in our telecast. The claims presented here are wholly without merit."
