Robin Thicke's Paula Listening Party Didn't Include Paula Patton—Get the Details!

It was a Paula party without Paula!

Robin Thicke held a listening party at 1OAK in Los Angeles last night for his upcoming album, Paula, and E! News has learned that his estranged wife, Paula Patton, was not in attendance. A source tells us that the singer's wife—who is the inspiration behind his latest project—didn't show up. Thicke, however, was wearing his wedding ring.

Additionally, the insider tells us that (surprisingly) the "Blurred Lines" singer didn't make any references to Patton or anything that had to do with love last night. We guess he decided to let the music speak for itself.

"Thanks to my closest friends and family for helping me to celebrate. This is just the beginning. ," Thicke tweeted with a black-and-white photo of himself onstage.

Robin Thicke, Paula Album

Thicke stopped by On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Friday to chat about dedicating his album to Patton, and explained that the entire project happened in a very short amount of time.

"I came right off a tour and I had all these songs and all these ideas and feelings in my heart. And I went right into the studio. I wrote all the songs in about three weeks and we recorded the album in about a month," he said.

And when it came to coming up with at title, well, that was pretty easy. "Obviously all the songs were about her or about how I feel about her. A lot of songwriters have done this kind of thing before. They won't tell you in the title or they'll be suggestive...I was just like, ‘There's no reason to hide who this is about.' It's all about her," Thicke added.

The 37-year-old celeb continued to state that his estranged wife is "a remarkable woman," and shares that the two have been in contact, but wants to keep the status of their current relationship "private."

"Sometimes when I'm alone, I appreciate the connection," he says about listening to the songs on Paula. "Sometimes, it's overwhelming also."

"I think you should keep a little mystery," Thicke says of sharing everything about his relationship with the public. "I think it's important to make something out of it. As an artist, I have to make art. As an entertainer, I want to entertain. And as a human being, this is all I want to talk about."
