To celebrate the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past and to kick off Memorial Day Weekend, Hugh Jackman and Jimmy Fallon put the pedal to the metal on The Tonight Show Wednesday. "What's more American than beating an Australian in a good old fashioned cooler scooter race?" the host asked.

Not familiar with the competition? "If you don't know what a cooler scooter is, it's a beer cooler that's attached to a scooter," Fallon explained. "Basically, it's gonna be the transportation of the future."

"Since safety is sexy, we'll be wearing these beer helmets, complete with ice-cold beer," he added.

The rules were simple: Jackman and Fallon would race through The Tonight Show halls and circle around a keg in the elevator bank area. They'd have to evade a number of obstacles, including a baton twirler, an old man contemplating crossing the street, a little boy who's eaten too much candy and his tummy hurt, two fraternity brothers on lawn chairs high-fiving and a dad flipping burgers on a grill.
