A video shot last June at the 2013 Denver Comic-Con happened to go viral this past weekend, and we're so glad it did.
In the clip above, a young girl asks Wil Wheaton, "When you were a kid, were you called a nerd, and how did you deal with it?"
His answer? Well, let's just say it might be the best thing you hear all day.
"When I was a little boy, I was called a nerd all the time because I didn't like sports, I loved to read, I liked math and science, I thought school was really cool, and it hurt, a lot," the former Star Trek: The Next Generation star said.
He continued, "Because it's never OK when a person makes fun of you for something that you didn't choose. We didn't choose to be nerds. We can't help it that we like those things, and we shouldn't apologize for liking these things."
The actor also pointed out, "When a person makes fun of you, when a person is cruel to you, it has nothing to do with you...it's about them feeling bad about themselves. They feel sad. They don't get positive attention from their parents. They don't feel as smart as you."
He went on to say, "It absolutely gets better as you get older," before concluding with, "Don't ever let them make you feel bad because you love something they decided is only for nerds."
