It turns out that Rachel Canning has now moved back into her parents' home after filing a lawsuit against them last month.

The 18-year-old originally sued them for financial support, saying that they needed to pay for her private-school tuition at New Jersey's Morris Catholic High, her college tuition and her living expenses after she claims they threw her out of the house. 

Canning's parents' lawyer released a statement on Wednesday explaining that the high schooler "has returned home and reunited with her parents and siblings."

The attorney added, "Her return home is not contingent on any financial and/or other considerations."

Hmm…interesting. We wonder how uncomfortable those family dinners are!

Last week State Superior Court Judge Peter Bogaard refused to grant Rachel an emergency order that would have demanded her parents make the aforementioned payments.

He explained that he was worried that ruling in favor of the teen would lead other similar cases.

"Are we going to open the gates for 12-year-olds to sue for an Xbox? For 13-year-olds to sue for an iPhone?" he asked. "We should be mindful of a potentially slippery slope."

The next hearing will occur before a judge on April 22, where Rachel and her parents will address who is responsible for college fees.
