Jennie Garth's new memoir, Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde, leaves no part of her life untouched.

The 41-year-old actress stopped by Good Morning America on Wednesday morning to chat about the wide range of topics covered in her book, from her split from Peter Facinelli to her relationships with her fellow Beverly Hills, 90210 castmates.

As for the decision to pen a tell-all right now, Garth told Lara Spencer "it was something I hadn't done and I wanted to take the challenge."

"You're so open and honest in the book, you talk about your split from your now ex-husband, you talk about your dad's passing," Spencer tells Garth. "Hard for you to let go, or cathartic?"

"In some ways cathartic and very eye-opening for myself in a good way to sort of take a look and see how my life has progressed," the new author revealed. "All the things that have sort of happened and how they've molded me into the person that I am today,"

Garth was cast on the iconic TV series in 1990 and admits that she spent her "high school and college" years working long hours.

"We had a great time, what an experience," the mother of three said. "I wouldn't trade it for the world. But in some ways I missed out on a lot things, but in a lot of ways I was very lucky."

As for her co-stars, Garth said that even after all these years she still keeps in touch with most of them.

"Some of us really are like brothers and sisters," Garth explained.  "And we're always there for each other. Very close."
