Adrianne Palicki Calls Wonder Woman Gig "One of the Coolest Things Ever," Moves on to From Dusk Till Dawn

    Adrianne Palicki has no regrets.

Despite the fact that the Wonder Woman reboot she was tapped to star in never got off the ground (and the outfit they proposed to put her in was widely ridiculed), the G.I. Joe: Retaliation star still says that playing the lasso-wielding superhero, even briefly, remains "one of the coolest things ever."

Palicki did admit, however, in an interview with IGN, that she was "devastated" when the show never got picked up despite all the hype surrounding the project.

"It was one of those things that was shocking," she told IGN. "But in retrospect it was probably a blessing. It would've been a really hard thing to shoot. And I got to wear the costume—I should say, I got paid to wear the costume! So not many people get to say that. [laughs] I'm really blessed to have gotten to do that and maybe someday down the line I'll get to play that character or another awesome icon again."

Aside from Tyra on Friday Night Lights, that is?!

"I'm waiting for Super Girl," Palicki laughed.

But even though it wasn't while wearing gauntlets and red boots, the 30-year-old actress has been kicking plenty of butt onscreen ever since.

Aside from playing a real American hero in the G.I. Joe sequel, she costarred in the remake of Red Dawn that came out last year, and she has scored a role in the upcoming 10-episode cable drama From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, based on the Robert Rodriguez-directed film.

In fact, per Entertainment Weekly, the supernatural-crime saga is destined for Rodriguez's own El Rey Network, a 24/7 cable venture he's launching to "unite the most culturally diverse generation in history through fearless, badass and original content that awakens the renegade in everyone."

Fearless and badass? They've picked the right actress.

"I definitely get a lot of scripts for action films," Palicki also told IGN. "Which is awesome, because I love doing it. I love doing my own stunts. I'm one of those crazy people, but it's a fine line because you don't want to get pigeonholed.

"That's why I try to do comedies or even a little independent film, just to stay aboveboard, to keep it real—and to keep me from getting injured once in a while! I'm 30 and I feel like I'm 57 years old!"
