For those of you who religiously watched a teenage Claire Danes in My So-Called Life (like the Beauty Police; yes we're old) you're getting a glimpse of what Danes' character Angela Chase may have looked like today. The Homeland star showed up to her Late Show with David Letterman appearance with freshly colored red locks and sultry smokey eye makeup.

We were so over her blond hair, which we thought washed out the pale actress.  Even though we know we're a bit bias (we'll always see Claire as Angela Chase), the red hair does suit Claire's skin tone and eyes beautifully.

And that makeup… um, hello sex kitten.  You can tell by the photo that Claire knows how sexy she looks. With the navy smokey eyes and "I just got back from a weekend with Jordan Catalano" cheeks, she's giving the camera a look that just screams "meow."

Get the Look: While we assume Claire went to some big name colorist to get her new crimson locks (we just can't picture Claire at home in her Manhattan townhouse massaging red hair dye into her scalp with plastic gloves), you can try getting this color at home by using L'Oreal Paris Excellence Creme Haircolor, Red Penny 7R Tip: Make sure you're starting with blond hair to achieve this look or this hair color won't do more than add a subtle red tint.

If you want to try Claire's makeup, rest assure you don't need her exact coloring to pull it off. This look translates to pure sexiness with the full rainbow of hair colors, eye colors, and skin tones.

After moisturizing and priming the skin, apply a lightly tinted bb cream like B. Kamins BB Cream, which will even out your skin and give it a boost of hydration and nourishment. Then tap on a creamy light-reflecting concealer like BareMinerals Well Rested Face and Eye Brightener under the eyes with your ring finger.

To create Claire's minx eye makeup, line the upper lash line with a dark blue eyeliner pencil like Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Black Blue.  Then, with a small tapered eye brush, apply a shimmery midnight blue eye shadow like Bobbi Brown Metallic Eye Shadow in Midnight over the eyeliner in a thick line. Then, you want to blend the eye shadow in a back and forth motion upwards towards the crease.

Next, line the inner water line and lower lash line with long-lasting black eyeliner like mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner. Use a smudger or Q-tip to blend the eyeliner into the lower lash line and give the line a more diffused look. Finish the eye makeup by applying a couple coats of volume-building mascara.

To get Claire's "I have something to smile about" cheek color, obviously use NARS Orgasm Blush! Apply the powder blush with a medium-sized blush brush on the apples of your cheeks, pulling the brush upwards towards your temples.

Complete this look by applying a demure sheer lip gloss like Sonia Kashuk Ultra Luxe Lip Gloss in Fairest Flush 31.

We're not sure how Claire's red hair will play into the Homeland plotline (perhaps she's trying to go undercover as Brody's sister??), but we're sincerely hoping this new look is because she's preparing for a My So-Called Life reunion movie.  Just let us dream…
