At an event in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Duck Dynasty stars Willie and Korie Robertson spoke lovingly about one member in particular of their, well, dynasty.

During the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute's Angels in Adoption Gala, Willie recalled how he and Korie didn't have the money to pay the fee when they adopted their son Will.

"We said, 'We're good for it—we'll come back,'" the father-of-four told the crowd, People reports. "We've paid it, by the way."

Later, when Korie took to the podium, she tearfully shared, "From the moment we found out about [Will], he was ours. I swear, I had labor pains the night before I went and picked him up at the foster home he was living at. He's our child, just like our biological children."

Willie and Korie are also proud parents to Sadie, John Luke and Bella.

Just last month, 16-year-old Sadie made her New York Fashion Week debut when she walked the runway at the Evening by Sherri Hill Spring 2014 show at Trump Tower.

"I've done small [fashion-related] things in Louisiana, but this is New York Fashion Week," she told E! News backstage. "This is a whole new ball game!"

Sure enough, her always-supportive family was in attendance.
